Welcome to the Midwinter's Eve --Romance-- Giveaway Hop. No worries this is totally family friendly. When thinking about romance, let's go right to the source: Merriam Webster's definition.
Definition of romance (Entry 1 of 3) 1a(1): a medieval tale based on legend, chivalric love and adventure, or the supernatural (2): a prose narrative treating imaginary characters involved in events remote in time or place and usually heroic, adventurous, or mysterious (3): a love story especially in the form of a novel b: a class of such literature 2: something (such as an extravagant story or account) that lacks basis in fact 3: an emotional attraction or aura belonging to an especially heroic era, adventure, or activity ![]() I believe that it's #3 that binds us together and is important (to me). Online, across the world, it's so easy to get lost. How can we cross barriers? One way is by writing fiction (#2), which captures the heart (#1a2 above). Universal stories, in my book (hah, pun intended!!), feature a heroic family. Within my romance fiction series, Bad Boy Westerns, the McLemores are central to the plot. Amidst a journey of love, one of the McLemore brothers or cousins or a sister (Girls' Night Out) is always a main character and the setting is the family ranch in Texas. A small town, I might add. Circle back to #1a3 above, and check that one off, too. When it comes to romance, this fiction genre is more than a bookshelf category to this writer's career. Romance saturates my life, my outlook--it flows in my veins amidst blood cells, nutrients, air! So even though I'm about to become a grandmother in April, I'll always wear the outer cloak of a realist. Yet underneath courses a hopeful romantic's heart, lending my imagination gossamer wings! Maybe you're somewhat the same... ![]() To celebrate romance, I'm doing a $5.00 Amazon gift card (or PayPal cash) giveaway. You can either keep it or give it away, the choice is yours.
